About the Collection

The Hands of Grace Collection offers one-of-a-kind, handcrafted home décor accessories using the timeless elegance of leather, mohair and mesquite wood.  Proprietary leather processes create different original leather patterns in every piece.

Owner and designer, Grace Felder, began designing leather accessories in 1984.  When her children were born, she started a home-based clothing business for a high-end apparel company.  The past ten years have been spent honing her skills as an artisan working in leather.

Originally, Hands of Grace began in 1999 as a fashion accessories business located in Los Angeles.  Working in California until 2004, Felder created one-of-a-kind items for a well-established San Fernando Valley company.  Many of her items were purchased by Hollywood celebrities and performers in the entertainment industry.

Relocating from California to West Texas enabled Felder to partner with the Texas Hair Sheep Association and create home décor accessories from local hair sheep hides.  Hair sheep originated in South Africa in the 1930’s because popular European fleece-wool sheep  were not able to survive the grueling African climate.

Hair sheep have no fleece to shear and produce superbly durable leather that is soft and supple.  Many designers produce leather goods, but current research indicates that none combine this type of unique design using this specific breed of lambskin.
